Industrial Ideas

The weather has been rather glum and miserable in the North today.

I decided to get a little creative and play around with dull grey's and blues and inject some much needed summer inspired shades into this very industrial looking scheme!

I especially love the concrete effect wallpaper by ConcreteWall.

Ben Heine

Mies Van Der Rohe once said 'it's better to be good than original.' I believe this applies to that of Ben Heine's work.
The image by Heine above reminds me of M.C Escher's Drawing Hands 1948 below;
I am not for one instance saying he has copied, it just has a similar feel, I think it's more down to the positioning of the hands. This particular image by Heine is probably my least favourite of his images. The ones below in my opinion are much more original and very clever.
 Heine is clearly a very talented drawer and obviously possesses a vivid imagination.

As well as drawing some dream like and comical situations Heine also captures other more detailed and realistic scenes.
This is possibly my favourite image of Heine's work it's just very light hearted and well executed.

Bathroom Bliss

Following on from the sketches highlighted in Dresses for Kate. The bathroom in my new home is very neutral in colour but, is quite stark. I have been looking for something that will still blend in nicely but be the focal point of the room. These paintings below are both from John Lewis. The colours would both sit well while bringing a relaxing and personal touch to a private space.

Dresses for Kate

Although I am studying Interior Architecture. Like most people inspiration can come from many places. When checking my emails, I caught a glimpse of an article by My Daily which showcased 30 designs by some of the best designers around the world. I admire figurative artwork and respect the feminine and romantic feel it casts over me when I witness it. The two sketches below were the ones that particularly caught my eye, not necessarily for the design. But, just for the style and beauty of the artwork.
This sketch by Valentino, is possibly my favourite. It is so beautifully portrayed and realistic, truly stunning.
This sketch is by Prabal Gurung. I feel it portrays Kate's sophistication and elegance. Another beautiful drawing.
